When will Alabama get the most rain this week?
Rain was falling on parts of Alabama on Tuesday morning, and more will be possible through the rest of the week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting some areas to get up to 4 inches before rain comes to an end this weekend.
There could also be a chance for a few storms. NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center will be watching parts of south Alabama on Friday, when there could be a risk for severe weather. The severe weather risk area for Friday has been reduced in size from previous forecasts:
Strong storms could be possible on Friday night into Saturday in the areas shaded in yellow. This forecast will evolve as Friday gets closer.SPC
Rain will be possible across the state through today, but widespread severe weather is not expected. There could be a few thunderstorms, however.
The most rain is expected from Thursday night into Friday as a storm system sweeps across the state.
The National Weather Service is forecasting up to 4 inches of rain for the south-central parts of the state, with lesser amounts in north and south Alabama.
The rain is expected to move out by Sunday, and the sun will appear.
Cooler temperatures are expected on Sunday, according to forecasters. However, those cooler temperatures won’t be bone-chilling. However, the weather service cautioned that some patchy frost could be possible for in northern Alabama on Sunday and Monday nights.
