The U.S. Postal Service is rolling out its 2023 holiday shipping and mailing deadlines.
And take heart – the Postal Service has announced it will not have a peak, or demand, surcharge this holiday season.
Instead, the Postal Service is offering upfront pricing year-round with no additional fees for residential area delivery, for Saturday delivery, no fuel surcharges and no volume minimums.

Within the Lower 48 states
- USPS Ground Advantage — Dec. 16
- First-Class Mail (including greeting cards) — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail — Dec. 18
- Priority Mail Express — Dec. 20
For Alaska
- USPS Ground Advantage — Dec. 16
- First-Class Mail — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail — Dec. 18
- Priority Mail Express — Dec. 20
For Hawaii

A new shipping option this year is USPS Ground Advantage, a way to ship packages with day certain delivery of two to five business days based on distance.
Customers may purchase their shipping labels, order Priority Mail packaging and schedule free carrier pick up through Click-N-Ship, which allows access to Commercial Shipping Rates that apply to all domestic package labels.
