Anyone who has ever hunted the wild turkey has a story to tell.

Unlike deer hunting, where the stories focus on finally getting the big buck, turkey hunting stories usually revolve around how the turkey outsmarted the hunter. There’s something about getting outwitted by a creature with a brain the size of a marble that drives turkey hunters crazy. Failure stories are longer than success stories.

I have several turkey hunting stories I could tell, but the weirdest is about the turkey that wasn’t a turkey at all.
