When does Auburn play in the SEC softball tournament?
Fresh off a massive series win over rival Alabama to polish off the regular season, the Auburn Tigers’ softball team is now set for postseason play.
Fortunately for Mickey Dean and the Tigers, they won’t have to go far as Auburn gets to play host to the SEC softball tournament this week at Jane B. Moore Field.
Having finished the regular season with a 9-15 conference record, Auburn ended up with the No. 10 seed for the tournament, meaning the Tigers avoided having to play in Tuesday’s first-round matchup.
Instead, Auburn (27-18-1, 9-15 SEC) will play its first-round game on Wednesday, when it’s got a date scheduled with the seventh-seeded Georgia Bulldogs (38-15, 12-12 SEC) at 4 p.m. Wednesday’s matchup will be the first of its kind this year as the Tigers and Bulldogs did not meet in the regular season.
The winner of Wednesday’s matchup will advance to the second round, where it’ll see second-seeded Florida on Thursday at 4 p.m.
