What’s Auburn’s NCAA Tournament outlook entering final week of regular season?

The final week of the regular season is here, and March Madness is rapidly approaching.

For Auburn, it’s a more precarious time of the year than Bruce Pearl’s team would have preferred. Auburn is just 3-7 over its last 10 games — a stretch that includes five consecutive losses on the road — and is on uneven footing as the regular season winds down.

Observations from Day 1 of Auburn spring football practice

Pearl’s team is coming off a humbling loss on the road at Kentucky, a game in which the Wildcats dominated in every facet after a competitive 15-minute opening stretch, and two more tough matchups await the Tigers to close out the regular-season slate. Auburn (19-10, 9-7 SEC) will travel to No. 2 Alabama on Wednesday before closing out the year at home against No. 12 Tennessee.

Both of those games are, of course, Quad 1 opportunities for Auburn, which will have a chance to strength its NCAA Tournament resume before next week’s SEC Tournament. While Auburn is still projected to be in the field of 68, getting at least a split during the final week will have the Tigers feeling a lot better come Selection Sunday.
