Barbie is the overwhelming choice for costumes this Halloween, according to Google’s annual Frightgeist rankings that are based on – you guessed it – Google searches. Barbie’s popularity among costume wearers soared this year after the release of the hit movie bearing the doll’s name. Fittingly, “Ken” doesn’t make Google’s top 100 list of costume choices.

Nationally, the top 20 costumes are:

Alabama’s top choice

Just like the rest of the country, Barbie is the go-to for this year’s partygoers and trick-or-treaters in Alabama. According to Google’s costume map data, Barbie is the top choice in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile.

That’s not to say it’s everyone’s cup of tea. In the Alabama locations tracked by Google, Dothan is the outlier, opting for Ninjas as the top costume instead of Barbie.

As for Alabama overall, the top 5 costumes this year are:
