What will Alabama’s weather be like as meteorological spring ends? Here’s your Easter forecast
The National Weather Service is forecasting above-average temperatures for Alabama over the Easter weekend.
Will that warmer trend continue into May?
The probabilities are leaning slightly toward “yes,” according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.
Forecasters there released temperature and precipitation outlooks for May this week.
May marks the final month of meteorological spring, and one of the more active months in terms of severe weather and tornadoes.

However, there are no indications so far that May 2025 will be a busy one for severe weather.
It has a very good chance of being warm, however, and it could be warmer than usual.
The temperature outlook for May, shown at the top of this post, suggests that much of Alabama has a 33-40 percent probability of having above-average temperatures in May.
But not all of Alabama. The southern third of the state has slightly higher probabilities — 40-50 percent. And the northern part of the state has equal chances of above-average or below-average temperatures over the course of next month.
What about rain?

There will be slightly higher probabilities for above-average rainfall in north Alabama in May. The rest of the state could have equal chances of above-average or below-average rainfall.CPC
The precipitation outlook for May includes slightly higher (33-40 percent) probabilities for above-average rainfall for part of north Alabama. The rest of the state is expected to have equal chances of above-average or below-average precipitation.
The lead-up to May is also expected to be warmer. The 6-10 day temperature outlook from the CPC shows high probabilities of above-average temperatures for Alabama from April 23-27.
