What time is Walmart closing Christmas Eve? Store hours for Dec. 24, 2023
Last-minute shoppers will be hitting the stores this Christmas Eve in search of those needed items. But if you’re one of those who like to wait until Dec. 24 to do your shopping – or maybe you forgot an item or two for your holiday dinner? – you will want to pay attention to closing times for major retailers.
While almost all stores close on Christmas Day, it’s also fairly common for retailers to shorten hours on Christmas Eve. For 2023, Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, a day when many already have shorter weekend hours.

Walmart is among the retailers changing its schedule for Christmas Eve. Most locations will be on a shorter holiday schedule – 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Some stores may be on different schedules, so check with your local store.
Walmart is also offering Express Delivery until 4 p.m. on Dec. 24. Express Delivery, available in select locations, provides delivery in less than two hours but costs $10. Curbside pickup and delivery is available from the store for orders placed by noon local time on Dec. 24 and for same-day pickup and delivery by 4 p.m.
Stores are closed on Christmas Day (Monday, Dec. 25). Locations will reopen at regular times on Monday, Dec. 26.
