What time is tonight’s Republican presidential debate?

Four candidates for the Republican presidential nomination will be in Alabama tonight for the fourth GOP primary debate. Notably absent is former president and frontrunner Donald Trump, who will instead be at a fundraiser in Florida.

The debate will be held at the University of Alabama’s Frank Moody Music Building starting at 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET). It will air on News Nation. Tonight’s debate will be moderated by talk show host Megyn Kelly, NewsNation anchor Elizabeth Vargas and The Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Eliana Johnson.

Taking the stage will be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

To qualify for the debate, candidates were required to have obtained at least 80,000 unique donors and signed the “Beat Biden pledge agreeing to support whoever becomes the 2024 GOP nominee. They must have also received at least 6% in two national polls, or 6% in one national poll and one poll from two separate polls from early voting states.

Candidates North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson failed to make the stage. South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who was at the third debate, has taken himself out of the running for president.
