Alabama’s basketball season ended with a thud Friday night in Louisville.

The top-seeded Crimson Tide lost 71-64 to No. 5 San Diego State in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament, ending its season at 31-6. Alabama has still advanced to the Elite Eight only once in school history, in 2004.
