What stores are open on Christmas? Are any grocery or drug stores open?

If you find yourself needing a last few items for under the tree or for Christmas dinner, there are a handful of places you can go.

Most major chains, including Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam’s, Kroger, Winn-Dixie, Aldi and Publix are closed Christmas Day. Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Sprout’s are also closed Wednesday, Dec. 25. Rite Aid drug stores are closed.

Dollar General will also be closed on Christmas Day.

So where can you go?

CVS stores are open on Christmas day but is pharmacies will be closed. Hours for Dec. 25 are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. but can vary so it’s best to check ahead before you go. You can find more on store locations and hours at CVS.com.

Walgreens Christmas hours will depend on the type of store. Most of its pharmacies will be closed on Dec. 25 except for 24-hour locations which will remain open.
