What Saban said about Alabama’s win over Texas A&M, QBs

Alabama just survived the scare of the year to beat Texas A&M, 24-20 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Nick Saban is about to step to the podium. Refresh for the latest.

— Saban said it’s always great to win. He said the fans “probably has as much to do with the win as anything.”

— He said they didn’t play winning football quite a bit in this game.

— “That was not our best football out there tonight,” Saban said.

— When the second-team QB plays, everyone else on the team has to play better.

— Alabama will have to play a lot better next week at Tennessee, Saban said.

— The pressure on the QB made a huge impact tonight even if Alabama only had three sacks, Saban said.

— Saban said the WRs didn’t shake man-to-man well tonight but there weren’t many opportunities.

— Saban said they changed the coverage on the play when they saw the formation on the final play.

— “Everybody needs to play better as the team,” Saban said.

— LB Jaylen Moody was out with a bruised kidney so he couldn’t play tonight, Saban said.

— It’s hard to evaluate Jalen Milroe’s play tonight as a passer without watching the tape but 111 passing yards isn’t the kind of number they’re looking for. He couldn’t say exactly where that blame goes.

— “You have to embrace adversity sometimes,” Saban said of the defense’s ability to make big stops when it needed one.

— Saban said Bryce Young wanted to play at the end of the game tonight.
