What I learned at lunch with Jon Robitaille of Bay Cities Improv Company

Ten years ago, Jon Robitaille founded Bay Cities Improv Company in Mobile. For the past five years, the troupe has performed The Murder Creek Mystery Show on the Perdido Queen riverboat, docked at the Mobile Convention Center. Jon also offers improv acting classes at Innovation Portal in downtown Mobile.

When Jon accepted my invitation to lunch, he suggested we meet at Roosters downtown, which happens to be one of my favorite restaurants. Jon is pescatarian. At Roosters, he likes to order the Caribbean jerk chicken plate, basically, but with shrimp dusted in the jerk spices. The kitchen was happy to do it for him. Roosters and its owner, Frankie Little, were among the local restaurants recently featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
