Huntsville City Administrator John Hamilton told the City Council at its Feb. 22 meeting that more equipment is needed should the city be hit by another snow and ice event like the one that left most of North Alabama’s roads covered with ice for a week following the Jan. 14-15 storm.

But he is recommending more of a practical approach in citing data that Huntsville has only been hit with three significant accumulating ice and snow events since 2014.
