The city of Huntsville and the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber market the Rocket City as a smart place with high paying jobs.
And there is something to the claim. According to the Alabama Department of Labor, workers earn more money in Huntsville than in any other metro in the state in earning an average of $71,630 per year as of September, or $39.70 an hour.
But not every job of the 7,500 to 14,500 jobs (according to Indeed and Glassdoor) in the Huntsville area pays well.
Stacker used Bureau of Labor statistics data to find the lowest-paying jobs in Huntsville. Jobs are ranked by their median annual pay. Any jobs without annual compensation figures available were excluded from this analysis.
