West Coast-based restaurant chain coming to Foley this fall

Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits restaurant plans to open this fall in a circa 1925 building at 118 W. Laurel Ave., in Foley, according to city officials and the building owners. Colt Grill will lease the entire 10,000-square-foot building, according to Jeremy Friedman of Katapult Properties in Daphne. He and Mark Wright co-own the historic property under the name of 118 W. Laurel Avenue. The restaurant will occupy 5,000 square feet on the ground floor and will use the second floor space for offices, storage and residences for employees. Colt Grill is family owned and based in Sedona, Arizona, with four locations in Arizona.

The menu is entirely made from scratch and centered around smoked meats. Friedman and Wright purchased the building from the city of Foley in 2020 and have been renovating it to lease.

Other businesses planning to open in Foley include: Cheeseburger Randy’s at 209 S. Alston St.; and the former Fortis College building on Laurel Avenue is being renovated for Camellia Dermatology.
