A west Alabama man died early Tuesday morning after the car he was driving left the road and struck a tree near the Mississippi state line, authorities said Tuesday night.

Trent F. Graham, 35, of Millport, in Lamar County, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday on Pickens County 74, about 10 miles east of the Mississippi line, said Cpl. Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Graham, who was not wearing a seat belt, was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla that left the road and struck a tree, said King.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate.
