Wendy’s teams up with Cinnabon for new breakfast item

Wendy’s has teamed up with Cinnabon to add a new item to its breakfast menu— “Cinnabon Pull-Aparts.”

The cinnamon-roll-type breakfast dish will be available beginning February 26, reports CNN.

The pull-aparts are made from sweetened dough that’s dunked in a glaze then baked with cinnamon, brown butter and sugar. The pastry is topped with Cinnabon’s signature cream cheese frosting.

John Li, Wendy’s global vice president of Culinary Innovation, said the fast food chain wanted to partner with Cinnabon because the brand “evolves around equality.”

According to People, Li said Wendy’s was tapping into the demands of their consumers, based on company research.

“They crave comfort and nostalgic experiences, and from a food perspective, a sweet and indulgent item is perfect for bringing someone into that comfort zone,” said Li. “This product does that because we’ve partnered with the right brand who believes in quality and delivering that same emotional benefit.”

Last month, Wendy’s added a breakfast burrito to its lineup. The dish includes two fresh cracked eggs and six strips of oven-baked, applewood smoked bacon – the same amount of bacon found on the fan-favorite Baconator.
