Week 4 State Volleyball Player of the Week starred for 2A No. 8 Southeastern

Almost 48,000 votes were cast to decide the Week 4 State Volleyball Player of the Week with the top vote-getter earning 34 percent of the total.

Junior middle hitter Isleigh Hicks of Southeastern got 16,066 of 47,908 votes cast to come out on top of the poll of last week’s top performers. Hicks had 82 kills to push her season total to 145 and 649 for her career. She also had 51 digs, 12 blocks and eight aces for the eighth-ranked Class 2A Mustangs (13-1) from Remlap.

Melissa Patel of Mobile Christian was second in the voting with 8,034 votes – good for 17 percent. The junior libero had 118 digs, 20 assists, six aces and a 2.29 service receive rating last week for the No. 1 Class 3A Leopards. Mobile Christian (16-4) won the Bayside Academy Battle of the Bay tournament last week.

Helena senior outside hitter Addison Dockery was third in the voting with 14 percent of the total, 6,804 votes. Dockery surpassed 1,000 career kills after collecting 95 last week. She also had 15 digs and six aces for the Huskies.
