Watch Texas commit KJ Lacey, Alabama commit Ryan Williams put on show
Saraland stars KJ Lacey and Ryan Williams put on a show in the first half of the Class 6A title game Friday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
The top-ranked Spartans, going for their second straight state title, and the 2021 champion Cougars were tied 21-21 at the break.

Lacey is committed to Texas. Williams is committed to Alabama. Both are juniors, though rumors have been circulating for months about the possibility of Williams reclassifying into the 2024 class.
The two hooked up for a 63-yard touchdown on Saraland’s first offensive play. Williams got wide open on a post pattern and Lacey hit him in stride for a TD.

Then, with the game tied 7-7, Lacey rolled to his right and – off his back foot – hit Williams crossing the field for a 77-yard touchdown.

Williams also scored Saraland’s third TD on a 2-yard run out of the Wildcat formation. The reigning Mr. Football caught five passes for 174 yards and rushed three times for 16 yards.
Lacey was 12-of-19 for 245 yards and 2 TDs. He was sacked once.
