Watch Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game tribute to Hank Aaron

Major League Baseball paid a high-tech tribute to Hank Aaron during the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Atlanta, where the Mobile native became the Braves’ greatest player.

At the end of the sixth inning, the lights dimmed at Truist Park as the infield lit up as the display surface for a video presentation using projection mapping that commemorated Aaron’s 715th career home run.

The four-bagger, hit on April 8, 1974, in Atlanta moved Aaron past Babe Ruth into the top spot on baseball’s all-time home run list.

While becoming baseball’s home run king, Aaron was chosen for 25 All-Star games, more than any other player.

Aaron played for Atlanta from 1966 through 1974. He moved to Georgia with the Braves when the franchise relocated from Milwaukee, where Aaron played his first 12 Major League seasons. (And his final two with the Milwaukee Brewers, too.)

Aaron was enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1982.
