Watch Alabama fans heads for exits early against Texas
Texas, up two scores, faced a fourth and 3 at the Alabama 35 with 2:09 left in Saturday night’s game at No. 3 Alabama.
The Longhorns drew Alabama’s Trezmen Marshall offside, giving Texas the first down and the game. It pretty much summed up the Tide’s game Saturday.
Many of the Alabama fans in attendance weren’t there long enough to see the final penalty as they headed the parking lot long before the final seconds ticked off the clock.
For years, Alabama coach Nick Saban has implored fans to stay in their seats and support their team. The difference, obviously, is the Tide is usually dominating opponents. Not the case Saturday night.
Here is what Saban said back in 2013:
“I’ve talked about players playing for 60 minutes in the game and competing for 60 minutes in the game,” Saban said. “And, in some kind of way, everybody that choses to go to the game should stay there and support the team for the game.”
Alabama’s 34-24 loss to Texas on Saturday night was its worst at home in the 17-year tenure of Saban.
