Want to see Cole Swindell perform for free? Talladega lines up country star for race weekend
NASCAR fans in Alabama can see Cole Swindell perform for free during the spring race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.
The country star is set to play on Saturday, April 22, in the infield at the racetrack, as part of entertainment events leading up to the Geico 500 on April 23. Swindell’s headlining show at 9 p.m. is free for folks in the infield that night, as well as anyone with tickets to the Geico 500 on Sunday. Other entertainers start at 7:30 p.m on Saturday, details TBA.
Swindell, 39, has four studio albums to his credit, including 2022′s “Stereotype.” He’s known for hits such as “Chillin’ It,” “You Should Be Here,” “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” “Middle of a Memory,” “Single Saturday Night,” “Never Say Never,” “She Had Me at Heads Carolina” and more.
“I have been a NASCAR fan my entire life,” Swindell said via a press release. “There’s not much that can beat getting to play a show in the center of it all — infield at Talladega! One of the biggest racing venues in all of NASCAR. I’m so excited to play in front of the NASCAR fans which are some of the biggest fans in country music.”
A free infield concert is traditional at Talladega, which has presented artists such as Chase Rice, Dustin Lynch, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, Charlie Daniels Band and more in previous years.
Spring race weekend at the track, 3366 Speedway Blvd. in Lincoln, includes the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 and NASCAR Xfinity Series Ag-Pro 300 on April 22. On Friday, April 21, fans can participate in an event called “Big One on the Blvd,” which features wacky games, a parade with NASCAR drivers and lots of socializing.
