More than 650 Walmart stores across 47 states will be remodeled this year, the nation’s largest retailer announced.

Plans for the remodels were announced in January 2024 and the list of revamped spots is coming out as the work starts. The revamps are in addition to 12 new projects set for 2025, along the conversion of a smaller location to a Walmart Supercenter.

The renovations will convert the stores to what Walmart calls the “Store of the Future,” with improved layouts, expanded product selections and new technology. There will be places for customers to interact with items with digital touchpoints throughout the store and changes to store layouts to open up more space.

What stores are being remodeled?

Twelve Walmart and Neighborhood Market stores in Alabama are set for remodeling:
