Walmart makes early-morning schedule change
Walmart is making a schedule change on its delivery services, the mega-retailer announced last week.
Starting Sunday, Walmart started Express On-Demand Early Morning Delivery. The service will start at 6 a.m. Orders can be placed through the company’s website or app and members of Walmart+ – the retailer’s paid shopping program – will receive standard delivery for free.
“In the fast pace of modern life, time is our most precious asset. Walmart understands this deeply and is committed to making life easier for our customers,” Walmart said in a statement. “Starting at 6 a.m., earlier than ever before, customers can enjoy the convenience of On-Demand delivery. This expanded timing offers them peace of mind knowing they can get things they need at their doorstep to kickstart the day.”
Deliveries will be available in select locations in as soon as 30 minutes. There will be a $10 express fee for all orders and a base delivery fee for shoppers, Axios reported.
In September, Walmart announced it was expanding Express Delivery until 10 p.m. on orders placed by 9:30 p.m. Express Delivery allows customers to receive items between 30-90 minutes from the time they were ordered.
Walmart also offers On-Demand Delivery for same-day service so customers can select their own time.
