Walmart announced Tuesday it will close 51 in-store medical centers five years after first opening.

In a blog post, Walmart said the closures will impact Walmart Health and Walmart Health Virtual Care across five states.

“During our five-year journey, we made meaningful impacts with patients while continuing to learn, pivot and evolve. While our mission to help people save money and live better remains, today we are sharing the difficult decision to close Walmart Health and Walmart Health Virtual Care,” the blog post read. “Through our experience managing Walmart Health centers and Walmart Health Virtual Care, we determined there is not a sustainable business model for us to continue.”

Closure dates have not been determined. Walmart will continue to operate nearly 4,600 pharmacies and 3,000 vision center.

Health center employees are eligible to transfer to other Walmart or Sam’s Club locations. They will also be paid for 90 days and, if they do not leave or transfer, will be eligible for severance benefits.
