Steelcase Inc. shot up 2.5%. The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based office furniture-maker has its biggest plant in Athens where it employs nearly 800.

Banks Synovus, PNC, Regions and Southern States rose 2.1%, 2%, 1.9% and 1.7%.

Overall, Wall Street’s winning streak barreled into a fourth day Thursday following the latest signal that inflation is easing its chokehold on the economy.
