Walker County man, 83, killed in I-22 wreck near Dora, authorities say
An 83-year-old Walker County died after he was involved in a wreck early Friday morning on I-22 near Dora, authorities said.
Leonard L. Beck, 83, of Carbon Hill, was driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon that was struck by a 2013 Ford Escape around 5:40 a.m. Friday on I-22 near the 78-mile marker, said Cpl. Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Beck, whose vehicle was parked in the roadway after being involved in a crash moments before being struck by the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck about three miles south of Dora, said King.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
