Vote for the Week 10 Hollis Wright Birmingham area football Player of the Week

Check out the nominees for the Hollis Wright Birmingham Football Player of the Week for Week 10 of the 2022 high school football season.

Coaches can submit statistics following their games on Friday night or nominate players before noon each Saturday.

The nominations must come from a coach or official team statistician. They can be emailed to [email protected].

Voting is open until 11 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be announced on AL.com on Thursday.

Blake Allums, Vincent: The quarterback accounted for 341 total yards and 5 touchdowns in a 43-8 win over Thorsby. Allums was 10-for-14 through the air for 269 yards and 3 scores. He ran for a pair of touchdowns, gaining 72 yards.

Fluff Bothwell, Oneonta: The 6-foot, 211-pound junior had 23 carries for 436 yards with 6 touchdowns in a 49-21 over Good Hope. Bothwell scored on runs of 1, 52, 61, 63, 39 and 85 yards on his way to the 11th-best total yards on the ground in Alabama High School Athletic Association history.

Blaine Burke, Moody: The junior picked up 234 yards on 22 carries as the Blue Devils beat Southside-Gadsden 35-13. Burke was the leading rusher for the Class 5A, fifth-ranked squad that got 381 of its 506 total yards on the ground to finish 9-1 for the regular season.

Jabari Collier, Center Point: The senior QB ran for 180 yards, with touchdowns from 5, 73 and 75 yards in a 41-24 win over Oxford. He also completed 10-of-14 passes for 124 yards and a pair of TDs.

Marlon Compton, Clay-Chalkville: Compton ran for 112 yards and a touchdown on 4 carries as the Cougars wrapped up the Class 6A, Region 6 title with a 52-0 win at Shades Valley. Compton also completed 6-of-8 passes for 78 yards and 2 TDs.

Peyton Floyd, Hewitt-Trussville: Floyd was 7-for-7 through the air for 134 yards and 3 TDs in the Class 7A sixth-ranked Huskies’ 45-14 win over Chelsea.

John Paul Head, Vestavia Hills: The junior quarterback threw 5 touchdown passes, completing 11-of-16 throws for 249 yards. He also led the Rebels with 104 yards on 12 carries, including a 63-yard score. Vestavia rolled Tuscaloosa County 59-18, leading 45-10 at the half.

Tyler Nelson, Gardendale: The senior quarterback ran for 303 yards on 24 attempts and all 4 touchdowns in the Rockets’ 29-28 win at Mountain Brook to earn the Class 6A, Region 5 title. Nelson also scored the game-winning 2-point conversion with 19 seconds left in the game.

Na’eem Offord, Parker: The sophomore ran for a pair of touchdowns – from 5 and 30 yards – and threw a 40-yard TD pass in a 34-12 win over Huffman.

Woods Ray, Homewood: The senior QB connected on 22-of-28 passes for 302 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 34-10 win over Briarwood. Ray had 240 yards passing in the first half.

Jordan Washington, Helena: The junior running back had 14 carries for 114 yards and a 22-yard touchdowns in a 47-14 loss to Benjamin Russell.
