The Hartselle pileup
Hartselle won its 10th state baseball championship Thursday, sweeping the final two games of the Class 6A series against Chelsea. It was the first state title by first-year head coach Brad Phillips. After losing Game 1, 1-0, the Tigers won Game 2 4-3 and the finale 9-3.

Greeting the fans
Two years after losing in the state baseball finals, Vincent finished on top in 2025. The Yellow Jackets swept Pike Liberal Arts to win the Class 2A state title. Bryant-Jordan Scholarship winner Aiden Poe pitched seven strong innings in a 2-1 Game 2 victory.

Saving the day
After losing the opening game to Chelsea, Hartselle was in jeopardy of at least going into extra innings in Game 2. However, centerfielder Cain Falciani gunned down Jackson Turner, the potential tying run, at the plate to end Game 2 and force the “if” game.

Watch out!
Glenwood infielders Cal Lawrence and Logan Henderson collided while trying to make a play against Gordo in the Class 3A championship series. Glenwood went on to sweep the series and win the state title in its first year in the AHSAA.

Blowing it open
The Class 6A baseball series between Chelsea and Hartselle was tight in all three games — until the last inning. Down to their final three outs and trailing 3-2, the Tigers scored seven times in the seventh to pull away and win the state championship.

Out at the plate
Leroy was in a few feet of tying Game 2 of the Class 1A state baseball finals against Hackleburg at JSU. However, Hackleburg centerfielder JaQuan Reeder threw out John Foster at the plate to save the game. Hackleburg went on to win 5-4 and claim the title.

Finally on top
As good as the Deshler baseball program has been over the years, the Tigers had never won a state title. Until last week. Deshler won a tough, three-game series against Bibb County to become 4A state champions. The Tigers won Game 3, 6-1.

Heading to Game 3
Catcher Cole Griffin made the tag on Jackson Turner to preserve Hartselle’s victory in Game 2 of the Class 6A baseball series. The win forced Game 3, which the Tigers ultimately won. This is from the same play “Saving the Day” earlier in the post.

Happy Days
After a near miss two years ago, Vincent got it done in the Class 2A state championship series this year. The Yellow Jackets outlasted Pike Liberal Arts to win the championship.

Jumping for Joy
St. Paul’s celebrates Brooks McDonald’s 2-run homer in Game 3 against American Christian on Friday. The blow gave the Saints a 4-0 lead at the time. However, American Christian rallied for a 7-5 win to claim the 5A state title.
