Vote for Huntsville Times top boys athlete from 2023-24
The 2023-24 school year was a great one for male student-athletes in The Huntsville Times coverage area. (The girls, too.)
Buckhorn won its second straight Class 6A basketball crown. Bob Jones captured its first baseball championship with a thrilling three-game series win over Central-Phenix City this spring. Hartselle was second in Class 6A after an emotional ride to the finals following the death of legendary baseball coach William Booth. Fyffe won its second straight Class 2A football title with Madison Academy finishing as runner-up in Class 3A. Huntsville claimed the Class 6A/7A swimming and diving title with Boaz winning the 1A/5A championship. Scottsboro won its second straight indoor and outdoor track and field crowns while Madison Academy took the top outdoors honors in 3A for the second consecutive season. Randolph took the golf title in Class 5A, and North Sand Mountain was tops in the 1A/2A division. Huntsville won the 7A wrestling title while Scottsboro claimed the 5A crown.
Each of those championships was won thanks to hard work and dedication of entire teams and coaching staffs with stellar performances shining through and from those, AL.com will choose a Boys Athlete of the Year on Friday. We want you to make your choice known by voting in the poll at the bottom of this post. Readers’ choice will be announced on Monday.
