Von Maurâs Dry Goods bringing its first store to Alabama
Junior contemporary women’s fashion chain Dry Goods will open its first Alabama location this year in Bridge Street Town Center in Huntsville.
The retailer, a subsidiary of Von Maur Department Store, opened its first location in 2010 in Aurora, Ill. and currently operates 71 stores in 19 states.
No timetable was given for the opening.
The Huntsville location is one of 11 new stores announced, including the company’s first in Arkansas and New York.
Other stores were announced for Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Columbia, S.C.; Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Victor, N.Y.; Noblesville, Ind.; Liberty Township, Ohio; Rogers, Ark., and Wichita, Kan.
The brand was created to harken back to the first Von Maur Dry Goods store in 1872, “to bring our tradition of customer service to a new generation of younger, fashion-forward customers,” Lindsay Caltagirone, vice president of stores for Dry Goods, said.
