Vigor 2025 OT Micah DeBose commits to Georgia

Vigor sophomore offensive lineman Micah DeBose committed to the University of Georgia on Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle is currently the 6th-ranked sophomore in the state of Alabama and the 50th player nationally, according to the 247 composite rankings.

He is rated fourth at his position in the nation.

A first-team Class 5A All-State selection, DeBose graded 96 percent for the Wolves this season with 52 pancake blocks and 49 knockdowns.

DeBose is the fourth commitment already for Georgia’s 2025 class.

Coaches have compared DeBose already to former Vigor, Auburn and NFL star Willie Anderson.

“Micah can be as good as he wants to be,” Vigor coach Markus Cook said last summer. “He could be one of the best to ever do it. A lot of people say the things he is doing right now remind them of how Willie was when he was here.”

Cook has described DeBose as a “mauler.”

“He’s already big,” he said. “He has massive hands and wears size 16 shoes and 3X gloves. When he puts his hands on you, he’s got you. He’s aggressive. He’s a finisher and a good pass blocker. …. He is way ahead of his time.”
