It’s the first time SEC media days are in Nashville. That didn’t stop Alabama fans from taking advantage of the chance to grab an autograph or snap a pic with Nick Saban.

The Alabama coach addressed the media Wednesday.

Sure, he talked football. Offensive lineman JC Latham made some strong comments Wednesday about the Tide being disrespected, and Saban responded, coining the phrase “negative rat poison,” while admitting Latham’s statement was true.

Saban also talked about his trip to Italy and how he tried to get out of it. He was even asked about the viral video which saw him boxing a virtual reality opponent. Then, there was the conversation about his favorite cake.

But as you can see from the videos and pictures below, there were plenty of hurdles to clear before making his way to the podium.

Our own Michael Casagrande captured video of the rush to meet Saban. The video illustrates just how difficult it is to get an autograph or picture with the Alabama coach. Sure, the number of Alabama fans aren’t equal to past years when the event was in Hoover. Still, getting Saban’s attention is not an easy task.
