A 75-year-old Pinson man died Saturday night in a fire.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said J.D. Green of Pinson was the sole victim in the fire that happened at around 7:48 p.m. in the 6700 block of Womack Road.

Palmerdale Fire and Rescue responded to the scene on reports of a residential structure fire at a mobile home following reports of neighbors hearing explosions.

Once the fire was extinguished, first responders located Green’s body inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
