Sheffield police are looking for a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a man Tuesday morning.

Police Chief Ricky Terry said the body of Thomas James Hairrell, 64, of Sheffield, was found at about 4:55 a.m. Tuesday at 812 West Montgomery Ave., Apartment B. Police responded to a call of an unconscious person found Hairrell with gunshot wounds, lying beside the front door.

Hairrell’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensics Science for an autopsy.

Terry said police are looking for Dedrick Deshann Pride, 40 in connection with the incident. He is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds.
