The victim of a fatal Sunday morning crash in Jefferson County has been identified.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Stephen Matthew Donaldson, 36, of Helena, was killed in a crash that happened Sunday about 4:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Hurds Shoals Road in Adger.

Donaldson was the driver and only occupant of a vehicle that left the roadway for unknown reasons and came to rest down a small embankment.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
