Huntsville police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting in a restaurant parking lot Sunday afternoon.

Joel Adam Broussard, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Krystal, 1024 N. Memorial Parkway, according to police.

Kevon Clifton, 33, faces charges of murder. He is being held in the Madison County Jail without bond.

Police on Sunday said officers responded to the area and found Broussard, lying unresponsive in the parking lot.

According to police, officers arrested Clifton without incident as he was walking away from the shooting scene minutes after it occurred.

Investigators believe a verbal altercation led up to the shooting.
