A Vestavia Hills officer was taken to the hospital following a morning wreck on Interstate 65.

The crash happened on I-65 and U.S. 31. It appeared the officer’s cruiser was struck by a truck’s trailer.

Vestavia Hills police Capt. Shane Ware said the officer sustained very minor injuries.

The officer was taken via police escort to Grandview Medical Center to be checked out.
