Vestavia Hills police officer hit by vehicle while directing traffic at school event
A Vestavia Hills police officer was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic at an elementary school.
The crash happened at 11:15 a.m. Friday in an intersection near Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park.
Capt. Michael Keller said the school resource officers was working traffic duty at the conclusion of a district-wide profession development event for all school employees.
The officer was taken by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
