Rainsville police say one person was injured on Friday when a van crashed into the side of a shopping center.

According to police, the incident happened at 12:25 p.m. in the 800 block of Main Street West.

A minivan in the drive thru line at Rainsville Drugs accelerated into the car in front of it, and eventually all the way into the side of the vape shop next door, Cloud Z Vape and Smoke, and a tanning salon, Beautifully Bronzed.

According to police, the vehicle entered the side of the building and traveled about 25 feet before stopping.

No one inside the building was injured. The driver of the minivan was transported to Dekalb Regional Hospital with minor injuries, and was released a few hours later.

Rainsville Police are investigating.
