1 Team in the nation has given up more points than Vanderbilt this season. Charlotte’s opponents have scored 312 points. The Commodores’ opponents have scored 276. Only three teams in SEC history have given up more points in their first seven games of a season than Vanderbilt has in 2022. In 1979, Vanderbilt’s opponents scored 325 points in the first seven games. In 2020, Ole Miss’ opponents scored 286 points in the first seven games. In 1990, Vanderbilt’s opponents scored 282 points in the first seven games.

3 Consecutive Vanderbilt games have included at least 50 points for the Commodores’ opponent. This is the first time in SEC history that a team has yielded at least 50 points in three consecutive games. Vanderbilt lost to No. 2 Alabama 55-3 on Sept. 24 and No. 9 Ole Miss 52-28 on Oct. 8 for the 12th instance of an SEC team giving up 50 or more points in consecutive games. Then the Commodores lost 55-0 to No. 1 Georgia on Oct. 15 – the 50th time that a major-college football program had allowed at least 50 points in at least three consecutive games. Since joining the SEC in 2012, Missouri has reached 50 points in 17 games, including five conference contests. The Tigers opened the 2022 season by defeating Louisiana Tech 52-24.
3 Games with multiple TD receptions for Vanderbilt WR Will Sheppard this season. He’s one of four players in the nation who has done that, along with Charlotte WR Grant Dubose, Purdue WR Charlie Jones and Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. Vanderbilt has won the three games in which Sheppard had two TD receptions and lost the four in which he did not. Sheppard has eight TD receptions in 2022, and he leads the conference with 38 receptions. Missouri’s defense has yielded five TD passes this season.
7 Missouri players have recorded a rushing, receiving and punt-return TD in the same season, including WR Luther Burden III in 2022.
9 Victories for Missouri, four for Vanderbilt and one tie in the Tigers-Commodores series. Missouri is 7-3 against Vanderbilt since it joined the SEC.

The Commodores have not beaten a conference opponent since topping Missouri 21-14 on Oct. 19, 2019. Sewanee lost the 36 conference games that it played as an SEC member from 1933 through 1939. Vanderbilt lost the 33 league games it played between a 17-14 victory over Tennessee on Nov. 29, 1975, and a 27-23 victory over Ole Miss on Oct. 24, 1981.

2,331 Passing yards have been yielded by the Vanderbilt defense this season, the second-most in the nation and the most by an SEC team seven games into a season in this century. Ohio has given up 2,570 passing yards this season.
