USFL teams holding free youth camp in Birmingham

The Birmingham Stallions and New Orleans Breakers will host a youth football camp from 2 to 4:30 p.m. CDT Sunday at Protective Stadium in Birmingham.

The free skills clinic is for youngsters in the fifth through 12th grades. Check-in for the camp starts at 1:15 p.m., with the on-the-field instruction beginning at 2.

Participating youngsters will receive a T-shirt, and refreshments will be provided.

Players and coaches from the two USFL teams will work with the youngsters during the camp.

Last year, the USFL played all 40 of its regular-season games in Birmingham in its inaugural season, with Stallions emerging as the championship team for 2022.

This year, the USFL has shifted its eight teams to four cities, with the Stallions and Breakers remaining in Birmingham, where they opened training camp this week and will play their home games at Protective Stadium.
