US Marshals injure man in south Alabama shootout, Saraland police say

One person is injured after getting into a shootout with U.S. Marshals in Saraland on Thursday, according to the city‘s police chief.

According to Fox10 News, Chief J.C. West said U.S. Marshals were tracking an individual from Florida. The marshals followed the man from Satsuma to Saraland where a confrontation occurred in a convenience store parking lot.

Shots were fired as a result of the confrontation leaving the individual injured and taken to a hospital West said. It has not been revealed if the man or officers shot first.

The shootout is the second to occur in the city in the past two days.

The investigation has been turned over to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, according to West.
