Upscale, 48-room boutique hotel planned for Gulf Shores
The Gulf Shores Planning Commission will consider approval for a proposed 48-suite boutique hotel at its monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon.
If approved, developer Wealth Management will move forward with its plans to convert the Kaiser Building into Aqua Suites, A Boutique Hotel, an independent luxury boutique hotel.
“This will be an upscale hotel marketed toward couples for honeymoons, anniversaries, romantic getaways,” Katy Young with Wealth Management told the Orange Beach, Alabama website.
“There will be 48 suites for relaxation.”
Each suite would have access to a water feature. Ground floor guests would have direct access to individual plunge pools, while other rooms would have a patio water feature, such as a hot tub or soaking tub, according to Young.
If final site approval is granted, Wealth Management hopes to being renovating the Kaiser Building in March and open the hotel about a year later.
Wealth Management has developed hotel properties across the country, including Tru by Hilton in Mobile, built in 2019, and two properties in Biloxi, Miss. The company has plans for a second Mobile hotel, a Candlewood Suites, with groundbreaking set for later in 2023.
The Aqua Suites is one of two properties Wealth Management is working to develop in Gulf Shores, the other a 100-room Woodsprings Suite by Choice.
