Uniform, guns, armored vest found in police impersonation investigation, St. Clair sheriff says
A St. Clair County man is behind bars and under investigation for impersonating a police officer.
Joel A. Tucker, 39, of Ragland, is jailed on a probation violation warrant, said Sheriff Billy Murray.
Deputies were dispatched to Tucker’s Bell Drive home Thursday at the request of probation officers. They were concerned, the sheriff said, about a possible impersonation of a police officer.
During the home visit, authorities found multiple firearms, bullets, an armored plate carrier, and a law enforcement uniform.
The investigation is ongoing. Tucker is being held without bond.
