A tornado landed in Madison County Tuesday evening and damaged Redstone Arsenal.

According to a Facebook post, the tornado struck the Redstone property at about 7 p.m. damaging a structure near the NASA area.

ABC 33/40 Meteorologist James Spann posted that the tornado touched down “unexpectedly” but there were no other reports of damage in Madison County.

The unexpected tornado follows a line of severe weather that was not predicted for certain north Alabama areas.

As of 8:40 p.m. all tornado warning were canceled for Madison County.

Severe storms are still expected to continue into the night for both north and south Alabama.
