Undrafted rookies flood NFL rosters

Twenty-five NFL teams reported the signing of 296 undrafted rookies on Friday via the NFL’s transactions summary. Thirteen of those prospects played at Alabama high schools and colleges.

During the season, each NFL team is allowed to carry 53 players on its active roster. During the offseason, the league allows each team to have 90 players on its roster.

The players with Alabama football roots joining NFL rosters as undrafted rookies on Friday included:

· Mississippi State safety Marcus Banks (Alabama): Tampa Bay Buccaneers

· South Alabama quarterback Carter Bradley: Las Vegas Raiders

· Auburn center Gunner Britton: Buffalo Bills

· Miami (Fla.) guard Javion Cohen (Central-Phenix City, Alabama): Cleveland Browns

· Arizona State safety Chris Edmonds (Samford): Cleveland Browns

· Tulane defensive end Darius Hodges (Park Crossing): Carolina Panthers

· Auburn center Avery Jones: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

· South Alabama linebacker Trey Kiser: Jacksonville Jaguars

· Southern Cal linebacker Shane Lee (Alabama): Los Angeles Chargers

· Troy safety Dell Pettus (Sparkman): New England Patriots

· Troy cornerback Reddy Steward (Austin): Chicago Bears

· Alabama State cornerback Mikey Victor: New England Patriots

· Arizona running back D.J. Williams (Auburn): Tampa Bay Buccaneers
