Uncle Mick’s, popular Prattville eatery, set to reopen after fire
The popular Uncle Mick’s Cajun Market and Café, a downtown Prattville fixture, will reopen Feb. 28, beginning at 11 a.m., according to social media.
The restaurant, which opened in 2009, was heavily damaged by a fire on Aug. 19 of last year. WSFA reported the blaze began with a clothes dryer and damaged everything from the ceilings to memorabilia.
Located on West Main Street, Uncle Mick’s will be open for lunch and dinner, closed Saturday and Sunday.
Owner Mickey Thompson told The Montgomery Advertiser that the renovation took longer than expected, and it may take time to work back into a rhythm.
“We would get close to being finished and find something else,” he said.
Its Chicken & Sausage Gumbo was among the meals chosen for the 2020 edition of “100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama.”
