“I thought the kids came out tonight with a little energy, and we did a bunch of good things,” UMS-Wright coach Kevin Raley said. “We had some guys pick up some clutch hits today.”

The Bulldogs improved to 23-11 overall, while the Panthers finished the season at 20-6.

“They played better than we did,” Geneva coach Daniel Hart said. “Our kids did well. They battled and fought. It just didn’t go in our favor tonight.”

Michael Moore, who was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, hit a two-run single in the top of the first inning, then added an RBI single in the third as Geneva took a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs posted rive runs in the top of the first inning and four more in the second before hitting cruise control.
